Youmacon transforms downtown Detroit into a vibrant world of anime, gaming, and pop-culture magic, celebrating decades of Japanese animation, video games, art, and the internet trends they’ve inspired. Across one unforgettable weekend, fans of all ages can dive into nonstop action – explore stunning cosplay, challenge friends in interactive gaming halls, meet celebrity guests, and catch electrifying live music and panels that bring your favorite worlds to life.

Preparing To Attend Youmacon
*Unattended minors between the ages of 13 and 17 (inclusive) must bring with them a Parental Consent Form, fully completed by their parent or legal guardian, to pick up their badge at Registration (during Registration Hours) and attend Youmacon. A separate, fully completed Parental Consent Form is required for each unattended minor.
Badge Pick-up / Purchase
To pick up pre-registered badges (Platinum, Weekend, Single-Day, and Chibi), present a physical government-issued photo ID and the QR code from the confirmation email (printed or digital) at the designated Platinum/Pre-Registration Booths during Registration hours.
Unattended minors ages 13 to 17 must also submit a completed Parental Consent Form.
Names will not be printed on the badges.
Use the current legal name that matches your ID when registering.
Acceptable forms of ID:
- Driver License
- State issued Identification Card
- Military ID
- Passport
- U.S. Territories Driver’s License or Identification Card
- School-issued ID, for minors 13 – 17 who are attending the convention without their parent or legal guardian*
- College issued ID*

Badge pick-up & purchase will be located inside the Huntington Place Level 2 – Hall D.

All Youmacon badge purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable. Lost or stolen badges must be repurchased at full price.
Attaining Your Badge
Arrive early to pick up or purchase your badge. Expect long lines, so be prepared. Bring a game, snacks, and stay hydrated. Lines on Thursday and Friday are usually long, with waits potentially reaching over 3 hours. Keep this in mind when planning your arrival time.
All Youmacon attendees—badge holders, vendors, artists, contractors, and crew—must adhere to Youmacon’s rules, policies, and code of conduct. Violations may result in badge forfeiture without a refund and removal at the sole discretion of Youmacon and the venue.
Sign your badge. Whether it is your nickname, content creator name, or preferred name, it makes it easier to match a name to the person who lost their badge. Also, add a telephone number.
Always keep your badge with you.
Do not share your badge with others.

Youmacon attempts to provide a family-friendly, safe, and judgement free environment for all.
18+ / 21+ Age Restricted Events
Entry to all age-restricted (18+ or 21+) events requires a photo ID showing a date of birth.

Weekend Badges
The Weekend Badge provides access to all general events for this year’s convention. Weekend badges are available for purchase both online and at the door.
Single-Day Badges
A Single-Day Badge (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) provides access to all general events for the day purchased. Day Badges can only be bought at the door on their respective days.
Chibi Badges
Chibi Badges (For children under 12 only) will get your children into all general events for the entirety of this year’s convention. First child 12 and under receives a complimentary badge with a paid adult. Additional Chibi badges are available for purchase both online, and at-the-door. An adult may have up to 4 children with them.
Children 12 and under must ALWAYS be accompanied by a Parent or Guardian.
