Youmacon 2026

Youmacon 2026

What is Youmacon?

Youmacon is Detroit’s anime and pop culture convention, built for anime fans, gamers, and cosplayers who want a full weekend of things to do and people to do it with. Expect panels, live events, gaming, cosplay, the marketplace, and late-night programming all under one roof.

In 2026, Youmacon lands on Halloween weekend, October 29 – November 1 at Huntington Place in downtown Detroit.

Badges Are Now Live!

Youmacon 2026 brings together the most expressive side of anime and cosplay, where cosplays get bold, creativity runs feral, and the energy feels pulled from a late-night anime binge. Whether you’re tapping into cursed power, sharpening a signature style, or pushing your look further than ever, this is the place to unleash it.

Badges are now on sale! Grab yours today to secure your spot and take advantage of Early Bird pricing before rates go up later in the year.

Information

Preparing To Attend Youmacon with Children

Before you roll into Youmacon, there are a few things to know so everything goes smoothly.

*Unattended minors between the ages of 13 and 17 (inclusive) must bring with them a Parental Consent Form, fully completed by their parent or legal guardian, to pick up their badge at Registration (during Registration Hours) and attend Youmacon. A separate, fully completed Parental Consent Form is required for each unattended minor.

A separate, fully completed Parental Consent Form is required for each unattended minor. Consider it your required side quest before entering the weekend.

Family Friendly Environments and Events

Youmacon works to maintain a family-friendly, safe, and judgment-free environment for all attendees.

That said, not every event is meant for every audience. Some programming is designed for older fans, so checking event descriptions ahead of time is recommended before locking in your schedule.

18+ / 21+ Age Restricted Events

Some Youmacon events are restricted to attendees ages 18 or 21 and older.

Entry to these events requires a valid photo ID showing your date of birth. IDs are checked at the door. If you do not meet the age requirement, access will not be granted. No power-ups, no exceptions.

Attaining Your Badge

Your badge is your entry pass for the weekend. Getting it early makes everything else easier.

Arrive as early as you can to pick up or purchase your badge. Lines are longest on Thursday and Friday, with wait times sometimes exceeding three hours. Plan your arrival accordingly. Bring water, snacks, and something to keep you occupied. This is the warm-up before the real event starts.

All Youmacon attendees, including badge holders, vendors, artists, contractors, and crew, are required to follow Youmacon rules, policies, and the Code of Conduct.

Think of these as the rules that keep the world running. Ignoring them can result in badge forfeiture without refund and removal from the event at the discretion of Youmacon and the venue.

Give Your Badge an Autograph

Add your nickname, creator name, or preferred name to your badge so it can be returned if it’s lost.

Including a phone number is strongly recommended. Even main characters lose their gear sometimes.

Badge Tips & Rules

  • Always keep your badge with you
  • Badges must be visible when required
  • Do not share your badge with others

A Space for Every Kind of Fan

Youmacon is built to be family-friendly, safe, and judgment-free for everyone who walks through the doors. Whether you’re here with friends, family, or solo, the goal is the same. Enjoy the weekend, respect the space, and let people enjoy fandom their own way.

Programming varies throughout the convention. Some events are open to all ages, while others are designed for older audiences and later hours. Age-restricted events are clearly marked, and valid photo ID is required where applicable.

Different rooms. Different vibes. Same weekend.

Halloween weekend at Youmacon is about showing up, finding your party, and letting the weekend unfold.

You’ll move through panels, events, late nights, and unexpected moments. You’ll leave with stories you didn’t plan on.

Because every good arc knows this part.
The real reward is the people you meet along the way.
