ADA Accommodations & Accessibility Policies

Individuals requiring an Accessibility Badge backer will proceed to the Accessible Line at Registration (Hall D). If you require any assistance with obtaining your badge please go to Con Ops (329) and see our Accessibility Coordinator.

Each Accessible attendee is allowed one (1) companion or helper who may receive an Accessibility Badge backer. Each attendee and helper must purchase a badge to receive the backer. Companions should check-in alongside the primary Accessibility Badge holder.

NOTE: If you are purchasing a SINGLE DAY badge and require the Accessibility Backer, please head to the Accessible Line at Registration (Hall D) to acquire it. If you are pre-registering and buying the single day, there is currently no option to add on the backer. Head to the Accessible Line at Registration (Hall D) for pickup.

Quiet Areas:

Our Quiet Room (251 A&B) is located in rooms 251 A and 251 B. This is a room meant to help those who are overstimulated or need a quiet break to rest or take medication. Please keep noise in this room to a minimum. All attendees are welcome, an Accessibility Badge Backer is NOT required. No food or drink is allowed except to take medication or other medical necessity. Tentative hours are as followed:

Friday and Saturday: 11am - 10pm
Sunday: 11am - 4pm

Tabletop (310) has a coloring station with coloring pages, coloring books, crayons, markers, and pencils for attendee use if you would like to take a break and relax!

Service Animals:

Trained service animals are welcome at Youmacon. Emotional support animals are not permitted on the con floor. Service animals must be obedient and behave in a manner that is safe and non-threatening for other attendees and other service animals at all times. Service animals exhibiting aggressive or disruptive behavior may be asked to be removed if the handler cannot keep the animal under control.

Advanced Seating for Events and Panels:

All seating for events will be on a first come first served basis. Attendees needing early entry should speak to the badge checker outside the event or panel room to ensure they can obtain early entry. We can not guarantee these spots will be available after general admittance so if you would like to guarantee your spot please arrive early. We recommend you head to the line 15-20 minutes before the event.

If you will need any extra assistance please head to Con Ops (329) at least 30 minutes before the event.

Autographs:

Attendees with Accessibility Backers may have a proxy hold their place in line while they wait somewhere with seating. Accessible attendees will check in near the autograph area in Marketplace (Hall C) and then when it is close to the attendee's turn they will be brought to the front of the line. Accessible Attendees can choose either the following:

1: Have a friend hold their place in line
2: Have a member of staff hold their place in line

Hotel and Event Accommodations:

The individual accessibility policies for each of our partnered hotels can be found at their websites.

Huntington Place’s accessibility policies can be found here. Huntington has a limited number of wheelchairs for rental on a first-come-first-serve basis and an ID is required for rental.

Youmacon may not be able to accommodate everyone, and not all accommodations will be available for each aspect of the event.

If you have other reasonable accommodations that aren't listed above, please reach out to us by joining the discord and look for the accessibility channel. Additionally, you can reach out by sending a message on our social media pages.
